Time Flys When Youre Having Fun

I havent been on here recently, Im sorry, but apparently school is important. (Giant sigh.) Anywho, this post is here to tell of the upcoming events on this blog. :) Today, I will start my Twilight parody, Lunchtime. I think this is absolutely hilarious, and every time I say it, I smile/laugh. I am pretty sure all of you are familiar with Twilight, the vampire romance novel that everyone loves, except for me and a handful of other people on earth. We are seriously outnumbered. For those of you who do not know the summary, well here it is:

"Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie, while her mother,RenĂ©e, travels with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, a minor league baseball player. Bella attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys compete for shy Bella's attention.
When Bella is seated next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. He disappears for a few days, but warms up to Bella upon his return; their newfound relationship reaches a climax when Bella is nearly run over by a fellow classmate's van in the school parking lot. Edward saves her life when he instantaneously appears next to her and stops the van with his bare hands.
Bella becomes determined to find out how Edward saved her life, and constantly pesters him with questions. After a family friend, Jacob Black, tells her the local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires who drink animal blood rather than human. Edward confesses that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was too desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.
Their relationship is disturbed when another vampire coven arrives in Forks. James, a tracker vampire who is intrigued by the Cullens' relationship with a human, wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens attempt to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. There, Bella receives a phone call from James, who claims to be holding her mother captive. When Bella surrenders herself, James attacks her. Before she is killed, Edward, along with the other Cullens, rescues her and defeats James. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward successfully sucks the poison from her bloodstream and prevents her from becoming a vampire, after which she is brought to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, but Edward refuses.

Thats it, from start to end. I give you the start to end so you can refer back to this after you finish reading Lunchtime.

Today's Topic: Xmas in November

Well, Christmas music is playing on B101 right now. I just ate a candy cane. Its official folks, Christmas is upon us, though maybe a bit sooner for me then the rest of the world. But whatever. I'm happy. All that we need now is a bit on snow down here in little ol' Pennsylvania, and then my Christmas dream will be complete! I figure, if it's cold, it might as well rain, no more of this rain.

Today's Topic: Field trip

Tomorrow I am going on a field trip to Gettysburg. We are getting to school at 6:45, and for two hours, we will be on the road, in coach buses. No homework, a day out of school, and its a Friday! How awesome is that?

Today's Topic: Family Consumer Science

In Family Consumer Science, (FCS for short) we made chocolate chip cookies today. In the past, we have made banana bread, nachos, and apple crisp. In the future, we are making salads ( : / ) and smoothies. This class is AWESOME because they have ovens, microwaves, spatulas, and stuff. Its so much fun...

Poetry Party Day 7

7/28/2010 9:48 A.M.

Prince Charming
was a prince
who was charming

on the outside.

An open book
with only one page.

Love.
Instantly.

But is that really love,
and not just boring?

I think he ought to
check his book
with only one page.

Leave the girl scrubbing the floor.
And write some more.

And that concludes this weeks Poetry Party! Have a great afternoon everyone, and have a safe drive home.

Poetry Party Day 6

7/28/2010

I am standing, looking at myself
a reflection
a photo

this is who I am,
or is it?

I will never see my face,
unless it is my reflection

everyone around me can do something
I cannot

look at me, with no help

I look again, at a photo, at my
reflection.

This is who I am
to me

What am I to the world?

Poetry Party Day 5

7/28/2010

This is a poem
about what to write

-in a poem

What is a poem?
A hope, wish, fear?

Perhaps something in your life,
drawing near?

Think of an idea
then write.

Don't stop.

Because when you do, the magic ends.

Poetry Party Day 4

7/28/2010

Every beat of their tail
sends a wave of happiness around the world

Every time they look at you
everything melts away but that face

the face of a dog

born to forgive, but not forget

to be there when no one else is

laugh
smile
hug
friend
care
share
love.

Poetry Party Day 3

7/27/2010

What do we all know,
but can never bear to say?

Out hopes, dreams, and wishes
could all get brushed away

Something that was once so small
has continued to grow

You can feel it in the air
in a field
in someone's eyes, that haunted look

You feel it in music
You see it in art

In all of these, our greatest-
fear

Fear that drives us
hides us
destroys us

In our fear, hope dissolves

In our fear, dreams are far

In our fear, a wish is nothing.

Fear of our fear
growing stronger and stronger

Protect us.
Save us.

But the only one who can do that is me-and
you

Us.
Fear.

Fear
Us.

Poetry Party Day 2

7/28/2010

Never write a poem
especially one that rhymes

about an orange.

An assignment at school
"Write a rhyme of any color"
orange

What other food is named after it's color?
What other color is named after it's fruit?

An orange. Just an orange.

But this is a poem, about an orange,
isn't it?

Different from others
just like an
orange
and
me

Today's Topic: 10/9-10/15

I was going through my closet, (who knew it was possible?) and I found a notebook with a bunch of poems I had written over the summer. I have taken it upon myself to publish a new one each day on my blog. Anywho, here is the first one:

7/28/2010

There are monsters in the basement
skeletons under the bed
zombies in the closet

and something in my bathroom
when it's dark...

What creates these fears?
Are they really there?

I want to check
but what if

what if...?

I peer in, only to find shadows
it doesn't help

I feel as though they are behind
me

smiling
waiting to grab

but I never see them

do we believe to see,
or
see to believe?

Today's Topic: bottled water

bottled water is just the best thing on Earth. I mean, its water, in a plastic container, that you can carry around with you and drink at your own will, instead of drinking who knows what out of a river or something. Anyway, today I was in a triathlon, and I drank two bottles of water right after I finished. If I didnt have water, I honestly think I might have passed out, since out of all of the people in my neighborhood, I finished second. And it was sunny. And there were hills.

Today's Topic: Two Hour Delay

Today I had a two hour delay.

Because of the rain. I know what you're thinking, I'm thinking the same thing. Rain? What is this world coming to?! But its true. I had a TWO HOUR DELAY of school because of liquid precipitation. Who woulda thought??

Today's Topic: Power Outage

Today, the power went out. It was out for about an hour, well for an hour when I was home. Its raining, it was raining all morning and its raining all through the night. I haven't blogged on here in a while, I guess I have to start doing this more...! I am trying to find a new layout, I had my old awesome giraffe one, but for some reason, you couldn't post comments, so I figured I had to fix that!

Why I don't like...

Allergies.

I mean, really, who actually enjoys when you have them? I understand the whole, allergies in the spring thing, but why do we humans have allergies in the fall? Everything is dying. I know that sounds harsh, but geez, so are my allergies! Allergies + lacrosse = not good combo! Hopefully it's better tomorrow...

Today's Topic: How Stinkin' Cool is this?

My awesome new background! There was a different one I wanted, but it didn't work, but this one is still really cool! Comments??

Friday, September 10, 2010

Today's Topic: Writing

Today is Friday, and it's not raining, but I really wish it would just rain already, I mean, geez how long can you go with no rain? Especially because rainy days are the best writing and drawing days. Anyway, I was just google-ing my random stuff that I google, and I searched "kid's writing contests" and I found this really cool contest, ages 14-15, that I submitted for, it had to be 1,500 words or under, (easy!) and you could write about anything! Well, I submitted my long story, (about five minutes ago) and its pretty awesome. Guess what? Its not about talking animals!

Today's Topic: drivingg

Today I drove a car. By myself. In a parking lot, with my dad next to me. It was pretty awesome, but it was a lot harder then driving a boat. More to run into. Anyway, we found an empty parking lot, and did what I call the "Chinese Fire Drill". We got out of the car and switched sides, and somehow I wound up in front of the steering wheel. Turns out, those games that you pay 50 cents for, where you get to drive a fake car for about 40 seconds, is a lot easier. You don't have to worry about the clutch, and why would you EVER use the break in one of those games? My main goal is to go as fast as the car will allow me, in real life, not so much. Hopefully I will improve, but my dad will probably have a say in this post...

Today's Topic: Converse

Converse, the shoe that has been around and popular since forever. (actually 1917...) Anyway, I own 3 pairs of converse. My purple ones, (my first pair, I'm wearing them right now) my gray ones, (my second pair) and my chocolate ones. (They went to Maine, Boston, NYC, and France) Anyway, at some point in our lives, we have all wanted or owned converse, because lets face it, they are just the best ever!

Todays Topic: August 27 2010

Today was an example of perfect weather. It was sunny, with only a few clouds. It was warm, but not hot, you know, that fall/summer feeling, but more summer then winter. I was sitting under a tree in the front yard with my camera and Sydney, and my dad came out with an ice cream cone. It was so good, especially because of that weather. Thanks dad! Today was Friday, which leaves only the weekend between me and the first day of 8th grade, the last year of my middle school life...! So exciting, yet I wont be able to sleep in! (dont comment dad!!!!) Hopefully we can have some more perfect ice cream eating, picture taking, hammock laying days like these. This is also the day mommy comes home. <3

Today's Topic: water ice

Yesterday at 7:05, I went with my dad to a Phillies vs. Nationals game in Philadelphia. It was prettyy awesome. We were in section 116, row 23, I was seat 12, and dad was seat 11. We didnt catch any balls, but there were two that landed not far from our section. Anyway, I got to see HALLADAY number 34 pitch, which was reallyy cool. Now your wondering, what does this have to do with water ice? Well, we bought water ice there. They give you an exorbitant amount of water ice, its in a huge cup then they but a scoop on top. Being me, I knew I wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing, and it would eventually melt and get me all sticky. Well, dad started taking huge bites of mine, and complained of brain freeze. I told him he was a wimp, and I took a huge bite. I felt fine. But sure enough, about 10 seconds later, it felt like the front of my head was freezing, and it got worse and worse, and then it kinda burned, and went away. I shrugged, after my eyes stopped watering, and took another bite. We stayed to watch the whole baseball game, and I got to see the Phillies win, live, for the first, and hopefully not the last, time.

Today's Topic: _________

This blog might be about the things that I like, but today, lets just hear about the things that you like. Start listing them, folks!

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Today's Topic: Cameras

Cameras are so cool. They are small, (most of them) and you can bring them just about anywhere. Actually, you can bring them anywhere. They have cameras that can go underwater, there are cameras that can take pictures in space. There are even those cameras that we fly around sports stadiums and snap photos. Pictures help you remember things that you have done, or to help tell someone a story. They are in the newspapers, they are in books, they are online, they are EVERYWHERE. Anywho, cameras are pretty awesome because you can do so many neat things with them. You can change the color of your pictures, you can make the images blurry or super fine. You can take close up pictures and capture every detail, you you could take a picture of a huge far away mountain range. No matter what, they are prettyyy cool.

Today's Topic: itouch

Why have I decided to blog about an itouch you ask? Why is this post lacking correct punctuation? Well first off the itouch is pretty awesome and second is because I am blogging o my dads itouch. Prettyy cool i know. But i don't have one of my own...I guess I shouldn't complain I could have gotten one but decided i wanted an iPod nano. Look at me! I am typing so fast ts amazing! These things are coooool. Except they give you the weirdest words as you type And sometimes get them wrong but oh well it's still awesome. By the way if this thing didn't add in any of he puncuation and stuff then it wouldn't be in this post to much of a hassle to add...oh well. Still five stars from me.

Monday, August 16, 2010

Today's Topic: Remote Controls

The remote isn't necessarily important in life, I mean, we can live without it, people have lived without it, but it is helpful. What if you were home alone, sick, and you were watching TV on the couch, and you wanted to change the channel? You would have to get up and change it...and you really wouldn't feel good. I'm not sick, but I enjoy sitting on the couch, and not having to change the channel by walking up to the TV.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Today's Topic: Kayaks

Kayaks offer hours and hours of fun, especially when they are tipped over. Or when you don't use paddles. Or when you keep tipping it over. Anyway, kayaks, or should I say kayak, is very enjoyable, especially when four people are on it but the suggested (maximum) capacity is two.

Why I don't like....

Rubber bands on braces.

No, its not the thing that keeps the braces on your teeth, its a rubber brand strapped one of your top teeth, and one of your bottom, on both sides of your mouth. What does it fix? Still trying to wrap my head around that one. Anyway, yesterday I was gifted with the high grace of earning these rubber bands. Kinda like, "Thanks for coming to this orthodontist for FIVE (yes five) years, you have stepped up from silver, to gold status! Congratulations, here is your prize!" Are these prizes returnable? Id like a refund.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Today's Topic: Soap

Just imagine, a world without soap. Really, all that we would see would just be dsfusakdjfeif. Anyway, soap is quite useful, and BONUS it comes in cool shapes and sizes and smells!!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Today's Topic: chairs

Pretty self explanatory, if we didn't have chairs, we would be sitting on the ground, or on cushions. I dunno if cushions count as chairs, but for the sake of this blog entry lets just say that they do. Chairs are a wonderful invention, because without them, we would not be able to reach tables, or we would have to just stand, or they would all have to be close to the ground. Tables close to the ground are not a good idea for two reasons. 1.) Someone could run/trip over it 2.) Easily accessible by bugs and animals. Not fun. So really, if we didn't have chairs, it would be like taking plants out of the food chain, everything would just die, or in furniture case, become totally impractical and useless.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Today's Topic: flip flops

I've gotten lazy, that week off broke my blogging pattern! Anyway, today I am happy that I have flip flops, which I believe on a hot day are better then shoes (sorry converse), and much better then sandals, but I don't own any of those, just sneakers/converse, and flip flops. Life is sweet. :) Anyway, today, at exactly 2:21 p.m. it is 92.8 F and humid, so flip flops really really help, because heat goes out through your feet and your head, so that's why people wear boots and a hat in the winter, and flip flops/no shoes in the summer.

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Today's Topic: Sunglasses

Yep, lately I have been discovering that sunglasses are actually helpful. Did you know that they actually help your eyes?! I am very thankful I have them, especially when I am sitting on a boat directly in front of the sun. Face it, it can happen. It will happen, and it probably already has happened to you, in one way or another. Eerie, I know. Anyway, before you go out in the sun today with your sunglasses...what would you be doing right now if you didn't have them? Would you still be going out? Would you still have an enjoyable time without them? Would you be able to see right now?

Today's Topic: Maximum Ride

I have a reading problem. There, dad, I admitted it. Ha. Not like you think though, I can read great, but just a little too great, whatever that means. People always encourage you to read, and that all I'm doing!! Literally, ALL I'm doing. Let's just say I read a lot, but that's an understatement. Especially with the past series of books I have been reading, a series called Maximum Ride. It's about these kids that were raised in a lab, and they are 98% human and 2% avian. (That means they have bird wings on their backs, and they can fly, and they are constantly mutating-not in a bad way- and developing new skills.) I won't give away too much, but these books are reallyyyy good. I just finished Fang, which is the 6th book, and since I'm me, I had to find out when the next book will be released, and sure enough, it is called Angel, and will come out February 2011. A looong wait for me, but I have many more books to catch up on until then.

Why I don't like...

Being sick on VACATION.

I mean really, people? Why do I have to get sick on vacation? I had a 100+ fever, and my usual is...98.6 I think. Anyway, I woke up yesterday morning freezing and I had a huge headache, and sure enough, five minutes later, I was declared sick. This was then the start of the bestest car ride ever!! Not. I pretty much tried to sleep, and when I wasn't sleeping, I was shivering/getting overheated, or trying to read or some other time consuming activity which never worked because I had automatic built in sick sick + car sick = 8-/ But now I feel better, though not 100%...maybe 95.3%?

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Today's Topic: Goggles

Why are goggles important to me, do you ask? Well, when you are swimming in a pond, and you are as blind as a bat with your eyes open or closed under the water, you really think goggles are awesome. Though simple, they are very helpful...because some of the most simple things in life are quite important. The only thing that I don't like about goggles is that they do not float, which I have figured out-the hard way.

Today's Topic: The Farm

I know, I know, such a shocker, I haven't posted every day, I broke the cycle. 8-O Anyway, today is dedicated to "The Farm" which is where I go every year to have a reunion with my cousins, always so much fun. This year, we celebrated the 81st reunion. Best place ever. Those of you who haven't ever been to Maine, you haven't ever lived. Get there. Now. :)

Today's Topic: July 30

Today is July 30th, my birthday, the day I turn 14. So exciting. I will be continuing this post tomorrow, but for the next week I may not be able to type these...if worse comes to worse, I do have a backup, but it is rather tedious. Anyway, today is my birthday, and at 8:09 p.m. I will be 14!

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Today's Topic: Gift Cards

Like cold, hard cash, but all on a piece of plastic, it's a miracle! Just a simple, thoughtful gift that promises lots of enjoyment for you in your future. An example would be today, when I traveled to Barnes & Noble (with the aid of my mom, of course, due to my illegal driving age.) with my plastic worth $25, where I then proceeded to spend it all, obviously. How can you not? Only get one book?! What are you, crazy? Anyway, that leads me to believe that gift cards are pretty amazing, and makes me wonder why no one invented them earlier, which would have been awesome, but I grew up with them, so I really don't have much to complain about...especially because I'm talking about why I LIKE gift cards...!

Today's Topic: Ears

I am very thankful for my ears. That is all. For today.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Today's Topic: Clocks

This one is more understandable. We all need clocks, we don't question it, just embrace it. The human world runs on time. Everything is all about, "We have to get there on time", "We don't have enough time", or, "What time is it? I am so busy..." How many times do we say these each day? Time seems very important to us, it helps us measure each day, when we are supposed to be eating or sleeping, and it pretty much directs our life. How could something so small create such a big impact? I dunno, pens are pretty important because you can write with them, but you don't see people changing their life plans because of them. Take today to stop and think about how time has such a large impact on your life, perhaps a little too much?

Monday, July 26, 2010

Today's Topic: (Screen) Doors

Screen doors, as well as doors, are very helpful in everyday life. Why, you might ask? Well, they keep OUT the FLIES. Which, might seem small and harmless, (and in the big "scheme of life" it really is.) but is quite annoying...keep your doors open in the summer for less then five minutes and find out! Anyway, if we didn't have doors, the heat/cold would be getting into our house, and would release the heat/AC coming from our house.

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Why I don't like...

Broken air conditioners.

It's not fun, but I went two weeks in France without it, but I really do prefer not sweating every second of my life, because that just isn't fun. Especially when your fan in your room broke, because one of the blades fell off, so you cant turn it up because it starts rocking back and forth, and you fear for your life.

Saturday, July 24, 2010

Today's Topic: My Partyy

Today is my birthday party! So excited!! But it doesnt start until four, which means I have alot of hours until then, but I have alot of stuff to do until then-I think. I can't say much, because I don't know what will happen! All that I know is that I have an awesome Lilo and Stitch moonbounce (youre jealous), a home-made dunk tank, rainbow cupcakes, and a "survivor like" auction....who knows what will happen during this...!

Friday, July 23, 2010

Today's Topic: A Team & Friday

Apparently, I have some clearing up to do! Yesterday, I found out I was on A Team for 8th grade, and it turns out a bunch of my friends are on my team...you could say I "jumped to conclusions".

Anyway, todays topic is about Fridays. What is there not to like about them, really? I mean, it is the day before the weekend, but that doesn't really matter if you are on summer vacation. Fridays are always happy and relaxed, which means we should all take the time to just relaxx today and on the weekend!

*MY BIRTHDAY PARTY IS TOMORROW.*

Thursday, July 22, 2010

Why I don't like...

BEING ON A TEAM. I AM SO UNHAPPY RIGHT NOW. We just found out our teams, and all of my friends are either on B or C. Out of A, B, C, and D, that is a 50% chance, and obviously I didn't get it, which always happens to me, and I know that makes no sense. Anyway, I tried to figure out what team I was on all night, and I couldn't figure it out. All my friends were texting me like crazy, I had 11 messages, but then I had to get off the computer because it was getting late. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. and I really wanted to check the website, but since I have lacrosse today, I figured I should get another hour of sleep. Then, when I woke up at 6:12 a.m. I raced down stairs, and I was so excited, then BAM. A Team. But who knows, maybe something good will come out of this, but right now, I am having a very unhappy unhappy day.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Today's Topic: Sunscreen

Sunscreen is exactly the thing I did not use today. I was at lacrosse, out in the sun from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and so far this week I have not been sun burned. Obviously, this streak had to be broken...so today I returned home with a big red patch on the back right side of my neck, and it hurts SO BAD. My advice is, wear sunscreen!! But I don't wear it all the time, because I don't want to turn white and pasty...just a personal preference....but there is a limit, as there is to everything. One this I am sure about though, is that I WILL be wearing sunscreen tomorrow.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Today's Topic: Flip Flops

For example, after having a long day of running in sneakers and lacrosse, it feels absolutely wonderful to put on a pair of flip flops. If you don't like flip flops, you are CRAZY. But I mean that in the nicest of ways. :)

Monday, July 19, 2010

Today's Topic: Lacrosse

I just started my week lax camp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. You might wonder why I would want to wake up at 6:30, get dressed and eat by 7:30, then drive for an hour, and I wonder why I would want to do that too, but it's worth it. Anyway, it is the most amazing camp, because we do drills and stuff all morning, then eat lunch, but then we get to swim in the COLLEGE POOL. SCORE. It is very cool, because it goes to 12 feet. But anyway, I have been playing lacrosse since 3rd grade, and I love it. Really, you should try it.

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Today's Topic: Air Mattress

The past two nights I have been sleeping on an air mattress. Why? Because my room has toxic fumes in it due to glue and paint, so I prefer the clean air. Anyway, air mattresses are something I could live without, they don't majorly improve your life, but they are helpful. I mean, if you had nowhere to sleep because A. your room was being redone B. you had guests and got kicked out of your bed, or C. you just moved and your bed did not arrive as fast as you/isn't assembled. Everyone should own some sort of air mattress, trust me, you will use it.

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Today's Topic: Fabric

Not just any fabric, but the kind on my walls. Instead of having a normal wall, I have a giant push pin wall, and in order for that to work, you need foam covering your wall, then to cover the foam, you need fabric. Recently, (yesterday) we took down the fabric that was on my walls because it was starting to turn yellow-brown which was really gross, and we replaced it with the coolest green fabric. It is like a light green, but not bright...it is so cool that you can do all kinds of things with fabric, and to think that it started as eaither a plant growing in a field, or as animal fur...(I am not an animal killer. 8-O I ment sheep and stuff.) But if it was wool or something, that grew because the animal ate grass so really..........

Today's Topic: Movie Maker

Ok, so I make movies on Windows Movie Maker all the time, who knows why, I just love to do it. I just finished one that my friend and I filmed called the S.S. Show, and I have a separate blog and everything just for my movies. I think the blog is in my blog list if you scroll down....
Anyway, I love Windows Movie Maker because you can do all kinds of really cool things, which makes me wonder what a professional movie editing/publishing program looks like, I hope I could try one someday, it would be really cool. It's so easy, you just upload your pictures and video clips to your computer, put them in movie maker, and you can do allllll kinds of really neat things.

Today's Topic: Paint

Not water colors, not canvas paint (even though those are fun too), but wall paint. Yesterday was the first day of my "room renovation" as I like to call it. Now, all three of my walls are purple, leaving out my push pin wall. The ceiling will be painted a light blue that will match my new peace sign quilt, and I have polka dot adhesives that will go on my ceiling that are green and blue. It will look so cool.
The only thing I don't like about paint is the smell. I mean, who really likes that smell? It makes my throat seize up...but it has good results. (Not the throat part, the paint on the walls part.)

Today's Topic: Books

I am looking at the coffee table next to me, and it has three books on it that I am currently reading. I love books so much, and about an hour ago I read close to 100 pages of one of the books I have been reading, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. It is a really good book that my friend recommended to me, and if she hadn't, I probably would have never read it. Has that ever happened to you?

Why I don't Like...

...Taking finals in the summer.

  1. I'm going back to school for two days to take 4 tests
  2. I have to study during the summer
  3. I can't totally relax
Today is the first of two days that I have to take my finals, because I missed the last two days of school, and four finals. There were so many kids that missed the last days of school, they had to make extra final retake days. So many kids missed finals because of all of our snow days, a couple of which were not needed. So that is why this is the first post about something I DON'T like...school finals in the summer.

Today's Topic: Yogurt

Ok, so it's 8:26 a.m. on JULY 12th, summer vacation, and I am in normal people clothes. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE. I am sitting here, enjoying my strawberry yogurt, which tastes really good. I actually like the strawberry banana yogurt, but my mom only got one of those. Why don't I just eat a banana and a strawberry, you ask? That's none of your business. I only like it in yogurt form. Yogurt is nice because you can take it anywhere with you, and if you don't have a spoon, you can just drink it. They are filling, but not too filling, kinda like sorbet, but healthier, because otherwise I would be eating "pomme sorbet" (apple sorbet) every morning.

Today's Topic: Rain (sort of)

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of rain? Gray, wet, or boring? Well, all of those things are true, but rain really isn't all that bad, it is rather...important, even if we find it hard to admit. Today, I am happy with the rain because it has been 100 F+ this whole week, so a little rain can't hurt, we actually need it so the trees can grow more leaves and so the grass can become green again! The only problem is that there is a flood watch today...but that is understandable since the last time I saw rain was last week, in a different country (France).
Why do I like rain, though? Well, it is very good story writing weather, and as you can see I am blogging in the weather. It is also a very good day to buy stuff for a birthday party that could be taking place July 24th from 4:00-9:00 p.m. but I'm just sayin'.

Today's Topic: Apples

I absolutely love apples, they are my favorite fruit! Other then grapes and pineapple...they are one of the few fruits I actually like...I like more vegetables. Anyway, I always love eating my apple, the only thing is that I cannot eat a whole apple because of my braces, but it tastes good cut up, as long as it is not left out for too long, then it turns brown...
I love apples because when you knock on them (try it sometime) it sounds really good. Also, they make a good crunch sound, and look appetizing, unless they have brown/mushy spots or have something sticking out of their skin. I always enjoy apples, and usually when I can't figure out what I want to eat, I will have an apple!

Today's Topic: __%of__is__

Did you know that I learned that it math? And I actually used it in the "real" world?! It actually surprised me because sure, we use adding, dividing, and stuff, but this is like, something BIG. I was trying to figure out how much this pillow I wanted would cost after a 15% discount, and suddenly it popped into my head, __%of__is__! I was listening to Glee's Don't Rain on My Parade, and it was so funny, because right when I realized this, there was a big bang in the music, then once I figured out the problem, there was another...it was funny. Anywho, (right now I think) that...3 out of every 5 things you learn in math are useful. Haha.

Today's Topic: Cheerios

TOASTED WHOLE GRAIN OAT CEREAL, OHH YEAAA!! How can someone not like cheerios? All they are is bread, no salt, no nothing. They are like mini doughnuts, but much healthier! Plus, you add milk, and they are just the best thing in the world. Really, you should try it sometime. Cheerios are also great because of their name. Just say it out loud "Cheeeer-ios". Isn't that fun? In fact, as I write this I eat my bowl of Cheerios.

Today's Topic: paper

Paper is something that I am thankful for, and probably everyone in the world has used paper at one point, and everyone should be thankful that they can use it! If we didn't have paper, we would be writing on stones, leaves, and electronic devices, but we wouldn't be able to print anything out for obvious reasons.
I like paper because I can draw on it, write on it, and all kinds of other stuff. If someone handed me a piece of paper, I could do all kinds of crazy things with it. It is also very light weight, and easy to transport. Everything I have written sounds like some report for something school related. I guess I am just used to writing that way....hmmm will have to fix that. :)

Todays Topic: Pools

What can someone not love about a pool? There are many types of pools: kiddie pools, hot tubs, public pools, private owned pools, blowup pools, backyard pools. There is a type of pool out there for everyone, and I like them all. (Except for shark-infested pools, but that is totally out of the box.) Today, it is still morning, and it is already 96.1 F, so the pool is the obvious solution for any of your cooling down needs!
Today, I am going to my friends pool [which is huge]. I love swimming, and I have always been in the water since I was little! I can't wait! SPLASHHHHH

Todays Topic: AC

AC, short for Air Conditioner, is one of the most amazing things ever. Since I just got back from my two week vacation in France, I have come to understand the importance of AC. For some reason, the French are totally against these, and I was only in an not-wicked-hot-room for about...3 days maybe? Life is just much more enjoyable with these things! Imagine: "You were out for a long, hot day, walking/running around, then you come back in for your cold glass of water with ice cubes, and BAM, it's even hotter inside! You quickly pour your glass of water, give up on getting ice cubes, and sit down in the corner of your room in as much shade as possible."
