Today's Topic: "wintery mix"
Today was my second snow day in a row. Yesterday, we got a call at 6:20 A.M. that school would be canceled. (did I mention that the high school bus came around 6:30, my bus comes at 7:10, and I had already gotten up and eaten breakfast?) It was snowing alot...so I pretty much stayed inside all day. Today, I announce that we have about 18 inches of light puffy snow on top of icy stuff. This means, it is now impossible to make a decent snowball or snowman, unlike yesterday when you could roll snowballs that went up to my waste. Maybe higher. Not exaggerating, I did it. But yes...this is once again a wintery winter.

Braces: After
Well, this took me some days to figure out. I don't have braces. It's a miracle. Now, I'm stuck with this weird...how do I describe this...I have a bar behind my lower teeth. Its not a "bar" its more of a bar that runs behind my bottom teeth, that isn't straight. I'm supposed to have it seven years to life. Wonderful. I am never going to be metal free. Let me describe what happened...it literally took about 60 seconds to get the braces off (which by the way involved this huge clampy thing and it rather hurt) but then what took an hour was getting the cement that was glued to my face off. That involved something that sounded like a cross between a leaf blower, a chain saw, and something that goes ZOOOM ZOOM WHIRL WHIRL. Not much fun, but once I was finished I got a balloon (thats still floating in the house) and a bag of all that stuff I wasn't supposed to have but ate anyway.
First of all, IM GETTING STICKY BUNS TOMORROW. The last time I had them was when I got my braces on, and I couldn't eat them because it hurt too much. That was back when mom had to frappé my NOODLES because i couldn't chew them. It doesn't feel weird to have my braces off, it feels normal. The moment I got them off it feels normal. During lunch, when I had my braces, I would spend at least three minutes swishing water around in my mouth so I wouldn't be that kid with the big yuck stuck in her braces. I also ripped off pieces of my peanut butter sandwich and ate them, so the peanut butter wouldn't get in my braces. I still do all that, and I didn't even notice it until yesterday. :)

Braces: Before
I have taken it upon myself to document my 1 year and 4 days with braces, from the year 2010 to 2011.
What I'm not supposed to have:
- gum (mostly sugarless)
- soda
- popcorn
I decided to never chew gum, so I could go up into the nameless ranks of people who never chewed gum with their braces that no one cares about, but then one day, I decided, I WANT GUM! So I decided not to ever have sugar gum, just chewing gum. (I didn't exactly fancy large permanent orange spots where my braces used to be.) I don't drink soda, so obviously I didn't break that rule. I didn't even think about the popcorn. Can you imagine going to see a movie without it? Well I can. not. I just started eating it, and I am still perfectly fine.
When I left the orthodontist office place, I had my braces cemented onto my teeth for what seemed life forever, and a bag containing a perfectly normal toothbrush (I don't care what they said, I compared it to my other one and they were the same.) floss, floss threaders, a timer, and a laminated guide to what I can and cant do with braces (what did they think I was going to do with that? Frame it in my bathroom? No, I looked at it then threw it in the cabinets under my sink.) I was supposed to floss every night, between every tooth, otherwise I would have my braces longer. I flossed for about...2 nights, then gave up since it took about fifteen minutes, not counting brushing my teeth. Every time I go to the orthodontist, they always say I do such a fantastic job at brushing and flossing my teeth. Haha.
...
Ok, so I haven't been here for a while. I've been a bit busy with school, then bashing my head against the wall trying to think of my twilight parody. It's coming, but it doesn't really feel...right, if you know what I mean.
I'm here to tell you that I just had my first 2 hour delay of 8th grade and of 2011. I was kinda wishing it would be a snow day, because tomorrow I GET MY BRACES OFF, and I leave in the morning, and then from Friday to Monday I'm going to Quebec, Quebec (Canada) on a school French field trip.
